About Us
In 2021, I founded Bruhaha with the belief that I could create a small, sustainable brewery business using an age-old concept: the brewpub. The idea was simple—brewing and serving directly to customers would reduce waste, packaging, and transportation. Drawing from my years as a passionate homebrewer, I saw the potential of applying modern homebrewing techniques and equipment to create cost-effective, eco-friendly beer.
To test my hypothesis, I needed the right venue. Windmill City Farm provided that opportunity. I set up my Minimum Viable Brewery, brewed beer, and hosted our first “Pop Up Taproom” in November 2021. The event was a resounding success, prompting us to move the brewery to the farm the following spring, where we continued to pop up every weekend.
The farm, with its beautiful secret garden setting, was fantastic during the summer months. However, as the nights grew colder, we realized we needed a permanent home. In the summer of 2023, we found that home on Wells Road in Totterdown. After a lot of hard work, learning, and a few tears, we opened the doors of our Brewpub at the end of October 2023.
At the Brewpub, we maintain our sustainable ethos by collaborating with local independent producers and suppliers for beers, ciders, wines, spirits, and everything else we use.
We also take great pride in fostering the social and community aspects of being a pub. We’re a proud part of the Totterdown community, a "Neighbourhood Joint" (yeah, I might have binged a little too much Triple D). We’ve close-knit connections with local community groups and host a variety of events for our locals to enjoy.
Now, with the Brewery up and running again, we’ve turned our dream of a small, sustainable brewery business into reality.
As Bruhaha continues to evolve, we remain committed to improving our sustainability and crafting great beer. We invite you to visit and enjoy a pint with us! 🍻
Cheers,
Steve England
